MGN will be undergoing brief maintenance at approximately 9PM EST on August 20th.
Downtime is not expected to last more than an hour, and I will be making a few tweaks that should hopefully improve the stability of the main server. During this time you will not be able to access online mode in SSF2, and the MGN website may go offline as well preventing signups. There will be a follow up announcement once things go back online.
MGN login speeds have been improved!
You’ll now notice that logging in on the website and within the game is way faster than before, and you’re now far less likely to receive the “Connection Timeout” error. We have also taken care of the issue with the “logged in elsewhere” error that some of you have been receiving. We are still working to improve the overall stability to eliminate mid-match connection drops, however connecting within the game and logging into the web site should work much better now. We’ll continue making tweaks to take care of these remaining issues.
MGN users can now create accounts and get access to SSF2’s online mode without waiting for an admin!
For new users, the signup process is as follows:
-Register at MGN Web Site: http://mgn.mcleodgaming.com/account/register
-Check your email for instructions to activate your account
-Add SSF2 to your account via your games management page: http://mgn.mcleodgaming.com/account/games
All accounts at this point should be either active, or able to be activated. Feel free to send an email asking for help if you have any issues.

Note: We are well aware of the “Connection Timeout” error for SSF2 online mode, which has been happening a lot recently since more and more users are signing up. We have made some improvements in this past week, however we’ll continue to work on this problem to increase the uptime.

I’m excited to announce today that the MGN website is now stable enough to support the traffic!
In addition to that, online mode in the web version of SSF2 is now working!
So please continue to sign up, and look for those activation emails! As a reminder, we will post another news update once everyone has been signed up. At that point, everyone should have access to the game.

Update on MGN’s Status:
We know that a lot of you have had issues connecting to the MGN via the website and game since launch. Well, we’re excited to announce today that we’ve resolved most of the issues and both the website and game servers are back online! You may still experience some slowness, however we will continue to activate accounts while we try to improve the experience. We’ll announce it once all accounts are activated so you can be sure you’ve gotten access.
Also for those of you who are just now signing up, please be aware that while you may be able to activate your account sooner, you will still have to wait to receive access to the game server along with the rest of the members. We’re doing this in waves as mentioned previously, so eventually you will receive access.
