I’ve finally finished remastering the piece created by alecrgmills, the winner of the MG Orchestration from back in February. It took awhile since I was mostly focusing on SSF2 stuff this summer but it’s now finished and available in the Music section.
In case you need a memory refresher, here are links to the old and new versions so you can compare:

SSF2’s Status:
A lot of progress has been made these past couple weeks but it seems it’s still not enough to finish by September. The Devs and I are working hard to make this next update the best one yet, so I thank you all for your patience thus far. Although I am returning to college in a few days, progress will continue. Once the demo approaches completion I will be sure to announce it, which will hopefully be within the next few weeks if things go as planned. And if you’re lucky I may give you guys a sneak peak at some of what’s new in v0.7 😉
I know it’s been awhile since any news updates but I want everyone to know that I and the SSF2 Dev group have been working hard all summer getting everything ready for the next version, v0.7. My original goal was to complete the next version before my classes start back up, but there’s still a LOT of work that needs to be done since v0.7 will be very content-heavy. I’m still going to try to keep this timeline of finishing the demo by the end of the month, however please keep in mind that this is just an estimate and things will probably change. I hope to at the very least be wrapping up the majority of the work by the end of this month so that there are no further delays.
We have been making a lot of progress and the new demo is looking great so far! So for SSF2 expect more information towards the end of the month, but check often for other news that’s coming up as well.
About Contests: Some of you have been asking when the next contest will be on MG. I decided that I would like to prioritize v0.7 since I will not have as much time to work on the game at college, so once v0.7 is released I will begin a new contest. This next contest will probably be Art related so be sure to brush up on those artistic skills!

Also, apparently today is the 2nd year anniversary of the new forums. Time sure flies! 🙂
The SSF2 Animation Archive from now on will be restricted to private SSF2 Dev access only.
This goes for both the requests page and the viewing page. As SSF2 progresses it is important that the sprites remain under control. Now that we have such an ample collection of sprites and animations for the game it is no longer necessary to have just anyone uploading anything. A lot of garbage has been uploaded in the past which makes it harder to manage too. So I decided that it is better off private for the sake of SSF2, especially since a lot of people have been using animations and sprite sheets without giving credit to the their creators.
After the completion of SSF2 I will probably re-open the archives or instead make a new site containing the resources I used for the game. But until then it will remain private.
I’ve recently fixed a bug that would cause the menu of the game not to function if your computer did not have a proper sound card enabled. Those of you who haven’t been experiencing this issue don’t need to worry about it, however it has been fixed in both the online and offline versions now so if you re-download then the problem should be gone.
Just thought I’d let you all know the original Super Smash Flash has apparently won the 5 Star Editor’s pick at Software Informer:
Originally I didn’t want the EXE version hosted elsewhere besides my site but the game has spread so far across the net now I usually let people off the hook. And what do you know, it managed to win something! 😕
