I’ve got two things for you this week. The first one you’ve probably already noticed, the Halloween theme for the site is up! All courtesy of the site’s designer, Zero Insanity! 😉 (Refresh a few times if you can’t see it yet)
Next, here is this week’s music update. It’s a mix made of various Pokemon battle themes! Check it out in the Music section.
More music coming next week!
Due to my demanding schedule this semester at college, SSF2 development on my side will be on an official hiatus until November 1st. This DOES NOT mean I am going anywhere or canceling the project or anything like that, you’ll still see me around on my forums and responding to emails. It simply means that I will not be working on the game for the remainder of the month. SSF2’s progress this month has been unbearably slow, so I’ve decided to just stop altogether until I get out of this hectic month. Now don’t get discouraged, SSF2 will absolutely resume progress on November 1st. In the meantime I will be providing weekly music updates for the remainder of the month to make up for the lack of updates altogether. Once November starts up I will announce the end of the hiatus, and progress on SSF2 will resume as normal. I thank you all for your continuous support with the game, just please understand that I work on the game during my own free time so it gets difficult at times to meet the demands of life.
So anyway here’s the first upload of music. I call it The First Movement, the first of what I hope to be many epic pieces. Check it out in the Music section now, enjoy!
Also once again, do not email me asking when v0.6 will be out, it certainly won’t be this month so I can’t answer that yet. Do keep in mind that v0.6 will be another significant leap in game production so there’s quite a lot in store for the update, hence why I need more free time.
Well unfortunately I didn’t come out up top, the winner turned out to be Robomanus. But I must say, deep down I expected he’d win. His work is quite professional, if you haven’t listened to his piece yet check out the contest results here:

Scroll down and you can see the exact placements. I’m in 10th place, and the highest was 20th so I’m right smack dab in the middle. Not bad, but I definitely think I could do better.
The next time a contest like this comes up I’m going to use every last minute of the allotted time. (I was actually a little late when I found this one, so perhaps time was a factor) Plus I’ll probably purchase some new instrument plug-ins for even better quality sounds! 😉
I’ve uploaded a new piece to the Music section titled Distant Ambiance. It may not be as intense as most of my other works, but I think it still fits my style quite well. Listen and see what you think.
And no word yet on that orchestration contest, though apparently it’s being judged soon. Not sure what the hold up was but at least we have word now that the contest is still on.
As for SSF2, thank you all for your patience so far. There’s still much work to do for the game and even more schoolwork unfortunately. I will post at least one other news update between now and the next demo, perhaps with some more music as well to help ease the wait. We’re looking at a few more weeks before I’ve made major progress so please sit tight for now.
Everyone seems to be getting a bit antsy about the upcoming demo. Please understand that I have just started my second year in college, so the updates may take longer again. I’ve only just finished my first week back.
So the next demo will take a few more weeks to do.
I will be taking advantage of all the free time I can get (mainly weekends) but I won’t have nearly as much time as I did in the summer. I won’t be setting a deadline since everything time-related becomes very unpredictable for me in school, but I will at least aim for the month of October. Could be any time of the month of course. So again:
PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL ME ASKING ABOUT THE NEXT DEMO!!
I will post some new music up sometime in between to help ease the wait.
