Introducing the SSF2 Dev Blog! Every Sunday during the month of October you will be getting an in-depth look into the Dev world of SSF2! Each update will contain detailed information about the game’s production from the Developer perspective, as well as some inside information about the upcoming v0.8. Enjoy!
General info about v0.8: This month, the other Devs and I will be working hard tweaking the game to its full potential. So the goal is to have v0.8 nice and solid by the end of the month. I will post news each weekend to remind you of the Dev Blog updates. I will also make a new estimate on v0.8’s release by the end of the month. We really want to make sure that v0.8 is 100% solid so that we don’t have the same issues as v0.7’s release with bug fixes every day, so trust me it will be worth the wait!
(Also, hope you enjoy the classic Halloween theme for the main site 😛 )
It’s been awhile since my last news update, so here’s 2 and a half new music updates that you can check out in the Music section of my site. Enjoy! 🙂
In other News: I’d like to announce that SSF2’s popularity this year has nearly exceeded that of the original SSF with over 70,000 daily plays! At this rate I predict that once v0.8 is released the game’s popularity will finally surpass the original game with more than 100,000 daily plays! 😎
Current status for v0.8:
The Devs and I have been working our hardest on v0.8 as the summer comes to a close. As an estimate, I think the next demo will be completed some time in October. This version of the game is another giant step in production, so it will be packed with changes to make the game even more fun than it already is. There is still a lot of coding and testing to be done, so I can’t give a more accurate release date just yet. Please keep an eye open for further news.
Lastly, expect some special info soon related to SSF2 that will get you pumped for the next release! 😉
Sorry for the downtime earlier today. I was installing updates and for some reason the database refused to start up afterwards. I managed to reinstall and get everything working again after messing around with some settings, so please let me know if there are any issues.
I figured you all would be hungry for some SSF2 News so here’s some more info for you:
As mentioned previously, the production speed of SSF2 has indeed sped up significantly since the start of July. While I can’t confirm a release date yet for v0.8, I would at least like everyone to be aware that my initial estimate was to have a demo released by September. It’s unclear how realistic that goal right now, but judging by how progress is coming along so far we should be very close to having the demo completed by then. The next demo will be even more content-heavy than v0.7, and I have a lot of new features in store for you all. Be sure to keep an eye on the SSF Dojo for occasional updates, and watch for other news postings as well since I might have more progress info for you or some new music downloads. 😉
