I’ve uploaded a new piece to the Music section titled Distant Ambiance. It may not be as intense as most of my other works, but I think it still fits my style quite well. Listen and see what you think.
And no word yet on that orchestration contest, though apparently it’s being judged soon. Not sure what the hold up was but at least we have word now that the contest is still on.
As for SSF2, thank you all for your patience so far. There’s still much work to do for the game and even more schoolwork unfortunately. I will post at least one other news update between now and the next demo, perhaps with some more music as well to help ease the wait. We’re looking at a few more weeks before I’ve made major progress so please sit tight for now.
Everyone seems to be getting a bit antsy about the upcoming demo. Please understand that I have just started my second year in college, so the updates may take longer again. I’ve only just finished my first week back.
So the next demo will take a few more weeks to do.
I will be taking advantage of all the free time I can get (mainly weekends) but I won’t have nearly as much time as I did in the summer. I won’t be setting a deadline since everything time-related becomes very unpredictable for me in school, but I will at least aim for the month of October. Could be any time of the month of course. So again:
PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL ME ASKING ABOUT THE NEXT DEMO!!
I will post some new music up sometime in between to help ease the wait.
I’ve got one more music update for you guys this week, and that’s a piece I made for the 2009 Orchestration Contest at Newgrounds. I call it The Perfect Battle, check it out in my Music section now and let me know what you think!
Now there’s a lot of good submissions to this contest so there’s no guarantee of mine coming out on top, but I’ll be sure to let you guys know if I place! 😉
Here’s a new piece for you guys, I entitled it Beneath The Lab, go to the Music section to download it. Enjoy!
Also v0.6 progress is going pretty smoothly now. However I have quite a lot planned for this demo, so it probably won’t be nearing completion until the end of the month/early September. I’ll post news once more when it gets close to completion. As usual I will not be announcing the specific character(s) that will be in the upcoming demo, I like to keep that as a surprise. But what you can expect is, as I said in my last news post, more menu options. I plan on moving the controls option to the actual options menu for one thing. I’ll also be putting the credits within the menu instead of the loading screen. Also, in case you aren’t aware yet, I am re-doing the entire AI from scratch for this update. Why? Well currently the CPUs make a lot of repetitive choices, and aren’t as smart as they should be. So I will be making major improvements in that area.
Oh, and for those of you with decent computers who have been experiencing less than adequate performance, you can expect a nice little surprise in the next update! 😉
That’s all for now!
The latest demo is done! Along with the arrival of Mega Man there are numerous other changes that you’ll all enjoy, so have fun! Visit the Games section right away! 🙂
Please note that while I did try to fix most of the major bugs there will always be new ones that pop up. As always, if you do submit a bug please make sure no one else has already submitted the same thing as you.
Up next will be v0.6! In that version you can expect some more menu options to be opened up. And as I’ve said before, it is highly likely that I will go straight to v0.7 after that so be prepared! 😉

Also make note of the new Pay Pal Donate link under Quick Links. Please be aware that you are not required to donate anything to enjoy the site. But I’ve received offers in the past and didn’t have a way to do it, and well, now you can! Any money received will go to the MG bank account to go towards things to improve the quality of the site and my work. I’ll greatly appreciate any donations! (Give as low as $1, doesn’t need to be much if you decide to donate! 😛 )
————-UPDATE—————-
I did some emergency fixes just now related to the AI shielding, Naruto’s Down Special on the ground, and the sticking to platforms glitch. There was also grabbing in mid-air for some reason, fixed that too. Just redownload to see the changes.
