Hey everyone! Super Smash Con is less than 24 hours away, and SSF2 Beta gameplay from our Apex build will be streaming live for 3 days at the event. Here is the streaming schedule below:
Thursday 8/6: 2 PM – 12 AM EST.
Friday 8/7: 3 PM – 8 PM EST.
Saturday 8/8: 10 AM – TBD PM EST.
Thursday will be a light gameplay day since attendees will be gradually arriving at the venue, but you can expect things to pick up towards the end of the day and into Friday. And don’t forget, we’ll have a special treat for you at the end of Saturday’s stream so be sure not to miss it! (Also, if you happen to be at the event come say hi!)
Stream has ended
To catch the trailer we revealed, you can watch it here:
We’re happy to announce that SSF2 will be making an appearance at the first annual Super Smash Con in Chantilly, Virginia! Attendees will be able to play the game demo from our Apex 2015 build, which includes Issac, Mr. G&W, and Bowser as playable characters. We will also be livestreaming gameplay for those who can’t make it in person. So join us this August for another chance to witness more footage of SSF2 Beta in action!
Also note that the team has been hard at work on Beta since Apex, but we don’t want to slow things down just to polish for a public showing. But don’t fret! We’ll have a little surprise for you at the end of that Saturday’s stream, so more details to come as we get closer to the event 🙂
MG is now back online
However unfortunately we’ve incurred some data loss in a few areas 🙁
– First, the forums themselves will be missing any posts after Tuesday, Jun 23 up to the crash.
– Next, the Dojo is unfortunately still offline and it will take some work to bring back due to a mix up with the backup process, where the data is out of sync with the site files. We’ll work on getting this up soon, but I don’t have an estimated due date for when yet so you’ll have to wait. It’s possible quite a bit of the content will have to be recreated.
– And last but not least, unfortunately my pet project site PastePasta.com lost all of its data, and the backups had been misconfigured so it’ll have to start from scratch again. As of writing this post PastaPasta isn’t available, however I do plan to bring it back soon. Once I revive it you’ll have to create a new account again. I’ll make sure the backups are set properly next time so we can avoid this from happening again, but do keep in mind that I cannot be held responsible for any loss of sensitive data within PastaPasta.
UPDATE:
PastaPasta.com‘s data has been recovered! You can disregard the earlier note about all of the data being lost, I was fortunate enough to be able to recover all of it from the faulty drive.
The Dojo should be back sooner than expected as well, a status update will be posted upon its return.
UPDATE 2
The previous range of data loss for the forums turned out to be incorrect, it was actually any posts after Tuesday Jun 23rd were lost.

Final Update:
Dojo has returned, everything is pretty much back to normal
Sorry about the downtime! We had some unexpected hardware failure which knocked everything out, but we’re gradually getting back to normal.
The main website is back online and the forums are currently being restored. The in-browser version of SSF2 works again, however not all downloads may be immediately available. Everything should be back to normal within a few hours, so please check back later if you experience any issues.
The update for online mode performance boosts is here!
Head over to the Games page now to go download the update. Players should experience much more stable frame rates in online mode than in previous versions. Please update to the latest in order to continue playing online mode, since old versions will no longer support it. The web version of the game has of course been updated as well. There are also no balancing changes, so you will still be able to load replays from the previous release – revision 1981.
Have fun!
–UPDATE–
Have a mac and the downloadable version won’t work? Simply re-download and it should start working. The original upload was corrupted so we rebuilt a fresh copy and re-uploaded.
