Up next will be v0.5 revision B. So let’s make one thing clear now:
PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME WHEN v0.5b OR THE DOJO WILL BE FINISHED!

I don’t want to keep giving you guys estimates that I can’t be 100% sure on, so from now one I will tell you when I’m ready. I will probably also be estimating the week rather than the day, since sometimes things come up and it becomes impossible to get the demos out at the time I originally had planned. Luckily however, a lot of the heavy work was completed in v0.5a, so you can expect the updated revision in a matter of weeks instead of months! 😉
(And it will only become faster each successive demo release)

Also, be aware that I am not working on the Dojo myself, so I can only relay information that I know to you guys, so when I find out anything I will let you know.

I’m sure you guys want to know what the demo’s status is so I’m giving you this update:

I was set back a couple of days on work on the demo due to serious technical reasons (Involves corrupt items in the library and stuff disappearing, etc.) but I’ve been back on track since yesterday.

Anyway, judging by the current status of the demo, I should be making finishing touches tomorrow. Just so you know I may not release tomorrow, so if you don’t see it tomorrow you should see it on Monday.

Thanks to those of you who have been patient so far, just please trust me, it will all make sense why it took so long! 😉

I know most of you are upset because the demo did not come out yesterday. Unfortunately my old methods for estimating how long things will take to do won’t work anymore. So much has been added to SSF2 since it first started out, and a consequence of that is the amount of time it takes to tweak characters both coding-wise and sprite-wise. So I apologize for yet another delay… :-_-:

Anyway to make a long story short, I have been working my hardest for the past couple weeks to make v0.5 the best demo yet, and I can’t do that by rushing. SO DO NOT EMAIL ME ASKING ME TO HURRY UP, AND DO NOT ASK WHEN THE NEXT DEMO WILL BE, I WILL BE GIVING YOU MY BEST ESTIMATE NOW.

So when is it coming?

Judging by the amount of time it has taken me to get what is currently in the demo, at the very latest the demo WILL be done before this week ends. But I want to make sure it is done right, so it will be released when I think everything is ready. So who knows, it could be done tomorrow, Wednesday, or even Friday. The important thing to understand here is that I do not want to release the demo if everything is not right. I’ve been sayings this repeatedly, and I’ll say it again: v0.5 contains the MOST technical changes out of every demo thus far. So trust me, it WILL be worth the wait!

So I won’t stand for any more complaints; I am not obligated to make this game for any reason, and I’ve been working my hardest to make it the most enjoyable demo so far. SO DO NOT EXPECT A REPLY IF YOU COMPLAIN OR ASK ME WHEN THE DEMO WILL BE DONE 👿

And lastly, a lot of you have been asking about the Dojo as well. Since I’m not the one creating it I can’t say for sure when it will be done, but when I release the next demo I will provide further info on its current status. Last time I checked things seemed to be going well but I have been busy working on the demo so I haven’t had time to check up on it. (Who knows, it could be done by the time the demo comes out)

Many of you have been mailing me questions about when the new Dojo and demo will be coming out. The guys working on the Dojo are still making some last minute changes to it. The place will look really good when it’s done, you’ll see. As for the demo, I just finished my finals this week and got home from school, and due to all of the coding changes I had to make I still have lots of actual content that needs to be added to it. So I will do my best to get the demo out before the month ends, but sorry it won’t be out this week. And I imagine the Dojo will be finished by the time the demo is done at the latest.
